Welcome to the 1996 Federated Logic Conference (FLoC)!
FLoC is modelled after the Federated Computer Research Conference (FCRC), and brings together synergetic conferences that explore connections between logic and computer science. The following conferences will be a part of FLoC:
Each conference has chosen its own program via its own program committee in order to preserve its uniqueness. Each conference also has its own set of tutorials or invited talks. To encourage interaction, conference attendees can attend talks from other simultaneous events without cost: a registrant of RTA, for example, may attend LICS talks without paying registration costs for LICS. Certain social events---coffee breaks, lunches, and banquets---will be held jointly. The program also includes three plenary talks, by Gérard Huet, Robin Milner, and John Rushby.
All events will take place on or near the College Avenue Campus of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The conference site is easily accessible from the Newark International Airport or Amtrak trains from many cities on the East Coast. Accomodations (all air-conditioned) range from the Hyatt Regency to Rutgers University dormitories, all within walking distance of the meeting site.
DIMACS, an NSF Science and Technology Center located at Rutgers University, will host FLoC as part of its Special Year on Logic and Algorithms and has provided significant support for reduced student fees. FLoC is supported also by generous contributions from AT&T Laboratories, Bell Labs-Lucent Technologies, IBM Almaden Research, IEEE Computer Society, and the Max-Planck Institute.
We hope that you will join us for this exciting scientific event!
